By Zoila Palma: The Belize Tax Service Department (BTSD), under the Ministry of Finance, is hosting the third Compliance Risk Management (CRM) Community of Practice Workshop, bringing together tax administration representatives from six Caribbean countries to share experiences and strengthen regional cooperation.
The workshop is being held from October 19 to 22, 2026, at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza.
Representatives from Barbados, Curaçao, Guyana, Grenada, Jamaica and Belize are participating in four days of discussions focused on identifying common challenges, sharing successful practices and exploring ways to improve tax compliance management across the region.
The workshop is receiving technical support from the International Monetary Fund’s Fiscal Affairs Department (IMF/FAD) and the Caribbean Regional Technical Assistance Centre (CARTAC).
The collaboration aims to translate regional knowledge and shared experiences into practical improvements in tax administration.
Discussions are focused on strengthening voluntary tax compliance, improving taxpayer services and safeguarding government revenues.
