By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Picture this: a car that goes from 0 to 60 in under a second, then jumps into the air and spins. That is what Elon Musk says Tesla’s new Roadster can do.
The second generation Roadster was unveiled this week, with Musk promising the final version will be even faster than the 0.8 second prototype.
For Belizean drivers, the idea is exciting, but hard to imagine here at home. Between potholes, speed bumps, rainy season flooding and narrow village streets, a supercar like this would face real challenges on Belize’s roads, from the Philip Goldson Highway to the dirt roads of rural Toledo.
There is also the question of charging. Electric vehicles are still a rare sight in many Belizean communities, and charging infrastructure across the country remains limited.
It is also unclear whether the Roadster will ever be approved for public roads anywhere, given its extreme capabilities.
Experts say the reveal is less about selling the car and more about making a statement. It reinforces Tesla’s reputation as a tech leader, grabs the attention of investors and helps the company recruit top engineers.
So we want to know, Belize: would you drive a car that can lift off the ground? And do you think electric vehicles have a real future on Belizean roads?
Tell us in the comments.
