Lamine Yamal was in eye-catching form yet again on Tuesday night against Galatasaray in the Champions League, grabbing two assists in a 4-1 win.
The Barcelona teenager wow the crowd with his skill, particularly for Anthony Gordon’s goal when he seemed to fake a rabona.
Yamal was asked about the move after the game by Thierry Henry and explained his thinking.
“What would I call that dribble? I don’t know. I’d call it ‘almost a rabona’. The important thing is that it worked out well for the assist to Gordon, it was effective,” he told CBS Sports.
“Lately I’ve noticed that opposing defenders often dive to the ground whenever I reach the byline. So I saw an opportunity and thought I could take advantage of it. It’s a nicer move, and it’s worked out well for me, so I’m very happy,” he told CBS Sports.
“I always try to use feints to create space. You know very well that defenders always try to close you down, and any feints that create space are life-saving.”
Yamal’s performance saw him scoop the MVP award after the game. He now has four assists in just two Champions League outings this season for Barcelona.
