The Oyo State chapter of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) has inaugurated Mrs Jennifer Tobore Otu as its seventh chairman.
Otu was inaugurated at a ceremony held on Saturday in Ibadan, alongside new members of the executive committee.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs Otu pledged to build a stronger, highly visible, inclusive and financially stable chapter.
She disclosed that her administration is working to sign memoranda of understanding with universities to introduce ICSAN to students early so they can become chartered as they graduate.
“I hope to lead with humility, including everybody, every member and carrying everyone along in all processes. I may not be perfect but I promise that this tenure will be inclusive where we will drive ICSAN forward to greater height,” she said.
Earlier in her welcome address, the president and chairman of the governing council of ICSAN,Mrs. Uto Ukpanah, said the investiture was more than a formal transition.
She congratulated Mrs Otu and urged her to provide purposeful leadership to strengthen the chapter’s institutional presence and deepen the relevance of ICSAN within Oyo State and beyond.
Mrs Ukpanah charged the new executive committee to work as a cohesive team, uphold the Institute’s standards and place collective interest above personal considerations.
She urged the chapter to strengthen engagement with public institutions, the private sector, academia and other professional bodies.
“Leadership in a professional institution is not measured merely by the title one holds, but by the quality of the institutions one builds, the people one develops and the enduring value one leaves behind.
“Efficiency without integrity can undermine public trust; integrity without capacity may limit results, and capacity without efficiency can lead to waste of valuable resources,” she remarked.
