ISLAMABAD – The federal government’s plan to provide half million Chromebooks to students across Pakistan excites youngsters seeking free laptops. The initiative, announced by Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), is intended to improve digital literacy and help students access modern learning resources.
Students interested in the scheme are now looking for details about the online registration process, official application website, eligibility requirements, selection criteria and Chromebook distribution dates. Although the government outlined its intention to distribute the devices, the latest programme announcement does not provide a complete nationwide registration timetable or confirm when selected students will receive their Chromebooks.
PM Chromebook Scheme 2026 Registration Website
Students seeking to apply for free Chromebooks should first check whether registration has been announced for their respective education board or academic category.
The online portal identified in the available registration information is: https://pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk/
Applicants should verify the link against an official education-board notification before entering their information. The availability of a registration website does not mean that every student across Pakistan can immediately submit an application. Registration may be limited to specific boards, student groups or application periods.
How to Apply Online
Students who meet the conditions specified in an official registration notice can use the following procedure to prepare and submit their applications.
Check Latest Registration Notice
Before opening the application website, visit your education board’s official website or another authorised programme source. Look for a notification confirming that Chromebook registration is available for your examination session or student category.
Open the Application Portal
Visit https://pmychromebooks.ibcc.edu.pk/ after verifying that the portal is authorised for your application category. Read the instructions carefully to determine whether the online application facility is currently active.
Provide Student Information
If the portal accepts applications, enter the required information using your official academic records. Depending on the registration requirements, students may be asked for their name, examination roll number, board details, school information and identification particulars.
Review Academic Credentials
Check that your examination year, roll number, name and other academic information match the records maintained by your school and education board. Incorrect details could create difficulties during the application verification process.
Submit Online Application
Complete the submission process only after confirming that all information is accurate. If the registration form is unavailable or the application window has closed, students should wait for further official instructions rather than attempting to register through unofficial websites.
Keep Registration
Save any acknowledgement number, confirmation message or application receipt issued by the portal. These details may be needed for subsequent verification or application-status checks.
PM Chromebook Scheme: Who Can Apply?
No single nationwide minimum percentage, marks threshold or selection formula can be confirmed so far, stay updated.
Documents to Apply
Keeping academic and personal information ready can make the online registration process easier once applications open.
| Required information | Why it may be needed |
|---|---|
| Student’s full name | Identity and academic record matching |
| Class 9 result or examination details | Verification of academic performance |
| Roll number | Identification of examination records |
| Education board name | Confirmation of relevant registration category |
| School information | Verification of enrolment details |
| Identification particulars | Student verification, if requested |
| Contact number | Registration updates, if required |
The final list of required documents will depend on the instructions published by the relevant authorities.
Students should not upload identification documents or disclose sensitive personal information unless an authorised portal specifically requests them.
Eligible beneficiaries are expected to receive Chromebooks, which are portable computers operating on Google’s ChromeOS. Chromebooks are commonly used for educational tasks because they support web browsing, cloud-based applications, online classrooms and document preparation.
Depending on the device model and software availability, students may be able to use them for completing homework, attending virtual classes, preparing presentations, accessing digital textbooks and conducting research. Chromebooks can also support some offline activities, although many online learning services require internet access.
PM Chromebook Deadline 2026
The latest announcement concerning the distribution of 500,000 Chromebooks does not specify a nationwide application closing date. Any deadline published by an individual education board should be understood in the context of that particular notification.
Applicants should regularly check the relevant board website and registration portal for updated deadlines, extensions or changes in application arrangements.
PM Chromebook Distribution Date
Prime Minister’s Youth Programme has not provided a confirmed nationwide distribution timetable in its latest communication. Details still awaiting clarification include the schedule for registration, selection of eligible students, verification procedures and the method of distributing devices.
Students should be cautious about social media posts claiming that Chromebooks will be delivered on a specific date without an accompanying official notification.
How to Check PM Chromebook Application Status
Students who have successfully submitted an application should retain their registration details and monitor official updates. If the authorised portal provides an application-tracking facility, applicants can follow its instructions to check their status.
Where no tracking feature is available, students should consult their education board or wait for official guidance about selection and verification. An application confirmation should not be considered proof of final selection unless the responsible authority explicitly confirms it.
Students and parents should remain alert to fraudulent websites and misleading offers circulating online. Never pay an unofficial person claiming to arrange guaranteed Chromebook selection. Avoid submitting information through unverified links shared in WhatsApp groups or social media comments.
Applicants should also protect passwords, one-time verification codes and identification documents. Official programme announcements and recognised education-board notices should remain the primary sources of information.
