Fans of Celebrity Traitors are convinced a disguised Ed Gamble appeared on last night’s episode of the show.
The comedian and Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked host, 40, previously appeared on last year’s edition of the show, buried beneath a hood.
He made his cameo during one mission, dragging Joe Marler out of his car.
This has led to speculation that he might pop up again during the Celebrity Traitors’ second series – if he hasn’t already, that is.
Following last night’s episode, viewers became convinced that they’d spotted this year’s rumoured Ed cameo – as a scarecrow who appeared during the day’s mission.
This masked figure was given enough prominence that it led many to believe Ed Gamble was hiding beneath the hood.
These theories were shared on a Reddit thread, in which viewers speculated on the mystery scarecrow’s identity.
‘So, we all agree that this season’s secret Ed Gamble cameo was him dressed up as the walking scarecrow who delivered the dagger, right?’ wrote EmergencyEntrance28.
Said redunculuspanda: ‘I thought that was an odd scene and the scarecrow was milking it a bit. Think you could be right.’
Agreed Inkedoll1: ‘Yep, I said the same.’
Noting that the scarecrow appeared to share Ed’s ‘gait,’ kezolt described it as a ‘big risk,’ in handing the game-changing dagger to Off Menu co-host James Acaster.
‘Was also half expecting James to say “Hi Ed!”’ joked boffbowsh.
If Ed was the scarecrow in question, then his cameo will likely be revealed on the final episode of Uncloaked, as he did last year.
Elsewhere in the episode, comedian and actress Miranda Hart, 53, became the latest famous face to die at the hands of the Traitors.
‘I’ve been able to get back and do the thing that I love professionally and do the things that I love personally. Like wandering around the Scottish Highlands and laughing and connecting,’ she said after learning her fate.
‘There were times that I didn’t think that would be possible again.’
In 2024, Miranda was diagnosed with the chronic illness ME (Myalgic encephalomyelitis) – also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.
This led to an absence from screens following her ‘total collapse,’ and being left bedbound for several years.
Meanwhile, the three remaining Traitors – James Acaster, Maya Jama and King Kennyseem no closer to being discovered.
The three were voted most trustworthy (or least untrustworthy) by the Faithful, unwittingly handing the Traitors a super-powered dagger which would give the holder two votes at the roundtable.
Of James’ participation in the show, Ed told Metro: ‘I didn’t know whether he would actually do it, and he tried to keep it secret from me for a long, long time, but, you know, I have my other sources.
‘There was a fun couple of months where we were dancing around each other, and he was trying to avoid telling me that it was happening, but in the back of my mind, I knew.
‘It’s the most James Acaster thing ever,’ he added.
The Celebrity Traitors continues next Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
