Nike and Club Deportivo Guadalajara unveil Chivas de Guadalajara third kit for the 2026-27 season, inspired by charrería, recognized as Mexico’s national sport. The design honors charrería as a Mexican cultural icon, celebrating its enduring legacy, distinctive traditions, and the shared sense of belonging that connects the club and its fans.
Chivas de Guadalajara's third kit incorporates references to the culture of charrería through an elegant black design with gold accents inspired by the iconic charro suit. A graphic pattern inspired by piteado belts extends across the chest and sleeves, honoring a distinctive craft known for its intricate designs and meticulous craftsmanship.
This third kit incorporates historic elements of Chivas de Guadalajara. At the center of the jersey is the crest used by the club in 1908, featuring the intertwined letters C and G. This symbol revives one of the earliest expressions of the team's visual identity and is integrated into the design as a reference to the club’s origins.
The kit’s visual identity extends to the players’ names and numbers through a custom typeface developed exclusively for this design. Its forms draw inspiration from the aesthetics of charrería, translating them into a typographic system created for on-pitch application.
In this way, a single source of inspiration informs every element of the kit, from the graphic pattern across the chest and sleeves to the custom typeface and personalization details. The result is a design that incorporates elements inspired by charrería, carrying forward the next chapter of Chivas de Guadalajara legacy’s with Nike.
In addition, as part of this launch, Nike introduces the Herencia Sagrada campaign, inspired by charrería and by the connection between this tradition and the essence that defines Chivas de Guadalajara. Escaramuzas and charros, representatives of Mexico’s charro tradition, are featured throughout the campaign in recognition of those who preserve and practice this discipline.
Powered by Nike Aero-FIT technology, the kit pairs this design vision with performance-driven innovation. Engineered from the thread and stitch level, Aero-FIT features specialized knitting techniques and strategically placed zones of open and closed hole mesh to enhance airflow and help athletes stay cool throughout competition.
The kit’s construction is designed to promote airflow around the body and keep the fabric from clinging to the skin. Graphic elements are integrated directly into the knit rather than applied to its surface, helping maintain the jersey's breathability and performance attributes.
