The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Multan International Airport has offloaded a passenger allegedly attempting to reach Greece illegally through Azerbaijan on a study visa.
The passenger, identified as Muhammad Bilal, was scheduled to fly to Azerbaijan via Dubai on Flydubai flight FZ-326 to attend a foundation course. During immigration clearance, he failed to give satisfactory answers about his entry plans and academic schedule.
An examination of his mobile phone uncovered evidence of an attempt to obtain a Greek visa. The material indicated he planned to travel onward from Azerbaijan to Greece using suspicious documents. It also showed that he had arranged to pay Rs5 million to Rs7 million for visa arrangements upon arrival in Greece.
The phone also contained information about alleged contacts who may have helped facilitate his immigration clearance.
Citing the evidence and the risk of illegal migration, the FIA handed Bilal over to its Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Multan for legal action. An investigation is underway to determine the roles of others allegedly involved.
