What happened at Opicho's burial?
MPs in attendance used the platform to criticise President William Ruto's administration, particularly over the withdrawal of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya's security detail.
Security officials responded by cutting microphones and barring opposition figures, including Sifuna and Godfrey Osotsi, from addressing the mourners, arguing the occasion should be kept strictly as a moment of mourning rather than a political platform.

The ceremony had already descended into chaos before the footage drew attention online.
The clip shows DJ Spider, well known as the official DJ for Raila Odinga's rallies before he joined Edwin Sifuna's camp, being escorted through the venue by one of Sifuna's security personnel.
Spider, dressed in a Manchester United jersey and a black cap, visibly appeared on edge as the bodyguard guided him and instructed him to take a seat directly behind Sifuna.
Sifuna himself looked puzzled by the unfolding commotion around him.
Some unconfirmed reports online suggested that police had been looking to arrest Spider at the burial, though this has not been officially confirmed.
The footage quickly drew reactions from Kenyans on social media, with opinions ranging from concern to criticism:
James Junior:
"Unakuja kucheza ngoma za Sifuna kwa matanga ya polisi?"
Cops KE:
"Arrest them. How can they disrupt a police burial with politics?"
Angeline Olayo:
"Our brother, may God keep him safe."
Kiki Irene:
"The calmness of Sifuna."
Ismael Wambia:
"The best DJ in Kenya."
Sifuna’s school struggles
In other news, Sifuna attended Musingu High School from 1996 to 1999, where he struggled with Mathematics and dropped Chemistry after scoring 16%.
He excelled in English, Kiswahili and Geography, which helped steer him towards studying law at university.
In June 2025, he returned to his former school to inspire students through his personal academic journey.
