KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd is combining competitive servicing costs for the all new Saga and S70 with continued investment in aftersales support.
A five-year and 10-year study by Proton's after sales team highlights how competitive labour charges and complimentary labour benefits help keep scheduled servicing expenses manageable, reinforcing the value offered by its sedan range.
Proton claimed that the S70 records an estimated five-year scheduled maintenance cost of RM4,010.59.
Based on the study's summary comparison, this is about RM1,591 lower than the leading non-national B-segment competitor and RM433 lower than another rival that was recently launched.
The advantage extends to longer ownership periods.
Its estimated 10-year maintenance cost of RM9,070.09 represents savings of about RM2,191 and RM1,252 against both benchmark rivals.
The study also demonstrates competitive costs for the turbocharged S70.
Its estimated five-year maintenance cost is about RM1,076 below the first rival and is broadly comparable with the other, being only RM83 higher.
Over 10 years, its estimated maintenance cost is about RM1,575 and RM629 lower despite being a physically bigger vehicle offering a much higher level of driving performance.
Meanwhile, the all-new Saga offers estimated five-year scheduled maintenance costs starting from about RM3,357.
Both its four-speed automatic and CVT versions record lower five-year costs than the national brand benchmark used in the study, with savings of approximately RM174 and RM64 respectively.
The study covers scheduled maintenance items, prescribed replacements, labour charges and applicable taxes, based on 100,000km over five years and 200,000km over 10 years.
"As sales of Proton vehicles grow, our customers want to know their vehicle will remain affordable to maintain and that dependable support is within reach.
"Our focus is on combining competitive servicing costs with trained technicians, genuine parts and convenient access to our authorised network.
"Together, these help customers plan their maintenance spending and enjoy greater confidence throughout ownership," said after sales director Wan Hazran Wan Mustafa.
Proton's wider aftersales strategy complements its pricing approach by strengthening service accessibility and parts supply as its customer base grows.
Regional parts centres in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu support the distribution of aftersales parts and components across Sabah and Sarawak.
