The Biodiversity and Tourism Management Society (BTMS), Anini, has carried out major repair and maintenance work on the Pomo Trekking Trail, restoring 17 critical sections to improve safety and accessibility for trekkers.
The initiative comes as the Pomo Trek witnesses its highest tourist footfall this year, emerging as one of the most sought-after trekking destinations in Dibang Valley.
The maintenance work was led by Theko Tayu, Chairman of BTMS and former ZPC, along with District Tourism Officer Lamwang Aran. The team included BTMS members Ganga Mili, Bachan Mipi, Inju Mimi, Niba Tacho, Londo Tayu, Robin Umpey and Pahi Mili.

The team successfully repaired, reconstructed and restored 17 critical stretches that had become difficult and uncomfortable for trekkers due to obstacles along the route.
Though considered moderate in difficulty, certain sections of the trail had become physically demanding due to exposed roots, uneven surfaces and debris, especially for trekkers using gumboots. The restoration work focused on clearing hazards and ensuring a safer, more comfortable trekking experience.
The BTMS initiative is expected to further boost adventure tourism in Dibang Valley as the Pomo Trek gains popularity as a premier trekking destination.
