Tree falls near school in Ashok Nagar; a lucky escape for students

A tree near in Sixth Avenue (near the entrance of GRT school) in Ashok Nagar fell on October 21. Thankfully, it was a holiday for the school on account of the rains.

Another tree fell on 86th Street in Ashok Nagar on October 18 which damaged a bike. This is a serious concern.

From time to time, a road is dug up several times for various works including stormwater drain construction, laying water pipes, sewage pipes, and telecommunication cables. This could have damaged the roots of trees and as a result the trees get uprooted.

Hence, the Parks Department of the Greater Chennai Corporation should take the necessary measures without any delay and prevent occurrence of untoward incidents.
