The LA Clippers are entering a new era of basketball after having moved on from Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Ivica Zubac, but one thing fans still aren’t able to fully get over is the way the franchise moved on from Chris Paul.
Paul and the Clippers parted ways last December, when the franchise elected to send him home after midnight at the start of an East coast road trip. While small reports have come out about what happened, many have continued to wonder what truly was the last straw that broke the camel’s back.
On a recent media your, Blake Griffin recently spoke about his former teammate departing from his former team and the franchise that drafted him the way they did.

“Yeah, it’s disappointing,” Griffin said. “I mean, obviously, knowing that that was going to be his last season, you’d think that they knew, you know, what they were getting. And part of what you’re getting when you sign a Chris Paul is you’re getting his mind. I was just kind of confused at where the disconnect was like, this is who he’s been his whole career. He’s like a leader, he’s a talker. So why not use that to your advantage?”

Blake Griffin played 387 games with Chris Paul in his NBA career, second behind only center DeAndre Jordan with 563 games.
The Clippers have said they plan to eventually retire Chris Paul’s jersey and have the future Hall-of-Famer in the rafters of Intuit Dome, but that will clearly have to wait until the tension between both sides subsides.
