Pemba Member of Parliament (MP) Obey Habeenzu says school enrolment in the District has increased from about 26,000 to more than 30,000 learners following the introduction of the free education policy.
Mr Habeenzu says there are 33,000 learners in school in the district.
Mr Habeenzu told the media in an interview in Lusaka today that the free education policy has enabled more children to return to school and access education.
He said the increase in enrolment was among the notable developments recorded in the education sector since the New dawn administration introduced the policy, which has since been enacted into law.
He commended the Government for attaching great importance to improve the education sector.
