Pros
- The flexible head makes it easy to shave in creased areas
- You can swap it out with the facial brush and body massager
- Can be used wet or dry with minimal pain or discomfort
Cons
- The carrying case can be difficult to close
- There's a slight learning curve to perfect your usage technique
A favorite of our editors, this hair removal device hits all of the targets we're looking for when buying an electric razor. For starters, it literally has 40 micro-grip tweezers in its motor to provide a super close shave, keeping your skin smooth for weeks at a time. While that might seem intimidating, it upgraded my in-shower shaving routine in a major way.
You can hit even the trickiest spots on your body. From your underarms and belly down to your ankles, this electric razor has you covered quite literally from head to toe. And with an impressive 50-minute runtime you can eliminate all of my unwanted hair with this device at least a couple of times before recharging it for just an hour. You’ll also appreciate that it's lightweight but not flimsy like it'll slip out of your grip. Plus, it's waterproof so you can shave in the shower without worrying about your new razor cranking out mid-shave.
An upgrade from the original Braun model, the more expensive but higher-tech Flex comes with a flexible head (hence, the name) that can uniquely adapt to your body's curves and contours—even the complicated corners of your bikini line. In addition to the epilator, the bundle also comes with a body exfoliation brush, skin contact cap for additional comfort, and more—definitely a bargain.
"The face and body brushes are especially useful, and I love how you can interchange the heads depending on what type of cleansing you want to do," says Women's Health contributor Isabel McMahon.
She credits the device’s built-in light, called the "smartlight," as a great option for women who like dimmer lighting while showering but still want to see what they're doing.

We previously tried and enjoyed the Philips Lady Shaver Series 6000, but it's no longer available. Thankfully, the brand upgraded to the 9000 model—and we love the changes.
You're paying $30 more, but it's worth the upgrade. The new model is a more powerful device that has two speed settings for faster plucking. It also features a quicker two-hour recharge time and can be used cordless for up to an hour.
The 9000 is equipped with eight attachments, including a floating foil head that glides across the skin. The different blades of the Philips electric razor are designed to target specific areas of your body, like the more compact bikini trimmer comb and head versus the larger trimming comb for your legs. It does an excellent job of trimming coarse body hair without any irritation or tugging.
Regardless of which attachment you employ, they all ensure that you can shave safely, even in the tightest contours of your legs and underarms. Whether you shave wet or dry, the ergonomic handle design will make sure nothing slips through your fingers. For this reason, we think the Philips is an incredible value. There are other, less expensive options on our list, but they're not quite as versatile in terms of where you can use them, so that's why this one took the top value spot.

So what makes it so effective for you? It does a little bit of everything well! There are five interchangeable heads that target everything from the bikini area and legs to underarms and face. If you’re dealing with rogue hairs in hard-to-reach areas use this one for touchups. It comes with trimmers and traditional razor heads so you can snip longer hairs to about the length of a rice grain before shaving. Offering IPX7 waterproof protection, you can confidently shave in the shower with this device or use it dry if you prefer.

Our favorite Philips model is no longer being sold, but we found a much cheaper alternative that doesn’t skimp on quality. After all, it can be nerve-racking to take an epilator or electric razor to the face, but this compact model was made just for that.
It’s shaped like a lipstick tube and features a hypoallergenic head that glides over rogue chin hairs and your upper lip with ease. Though it lacks a built-in mirror or LED light so you can conveniently see and remove even the smallest facial hairs, this device is only $20 compared to $47 Phillips model. With those savings you could easily treat yourself to a light up makeup to ensure you see every unwanted hair.
"I love this face shaver when I'm having one of those all-out spa nights," says Wohlner. She notes that, when paired with a liquid exfoliant and a hydrating face mask, the results are truly out of this world.
Pro tip: You should try using it before your skincare routine to help your products to really penetrate the skin for a major glow. Just don't use anything with too many active ingredients like retinol right after as that can cause sensitivity.

Pros
- It's extremely affordable, and it provides a smooth shave
- The shape of the device makes it easy to control mid-shave
Cons
- The device isn't rechargeable, so prepare to spend money on disposable batteries
- Not durable enough for daily, consistent use
Looking to stay silky-smooth on vacay? Then click "add to cart" on this extremely travel-friendly razor and then toss it in your carry-on or gym bag for quick, simple touch-ups. It's compact, so it won't take up precious room in your cosmetic bag (you could even stash it in your office drawer to ensure that you're hair-free for any impromptu after-work activities like happy hours and date nights). And yep, this little shaver is super lightweight to carry which is always a win.
Despite being battery-powered, you'll be shocked by how durable it is compared to something cheaper. This dual trimmer lifts and guides the blades for smooth results whether you're shaving wet or dry. It does a great job for the price, but you might notice that it seems to work best when the hair is longer, so it may not be ideal for targeting stubble. (It's totally NBD though because you can just shave less often and ultimately who doesn't love that?)
It's also not waterproof or durable for daily, consistent use so you wouldn't want to consider this your primary hair remover, but for a quick trip—brilliant! No wonder it earned an impressive 4.1-star average from more than 14,430 Amazon reviews.

This razor, which is specifically designed for the bikini and underarm areas, can be used both inside and outside the shower, no matter your hair type. It's ideal for thick, coarser hair, though, because it has a sharp blade that trims them on the first attempt. Additionally, this cordless device has rounded edges to prevent accidents. Anyone who's shaved knows hair removal can get messy, but the head on this shaver opens up for easy rinsing, too.
You’ll appreciate how beginner-friendly the Phillips razor is. The instructions are so clear and easy to follow, which make your experience a breeze. The electric razor is relatively small and very easy to get a secure grip on, so anyone with butterfingers can rely on this device.
I tried this razor and think it's pretty sweet, especially when cleaning up my bikini line. At first I was nervous that my longer hairs would get caught in the razor (it was winter, please let me live), but I was pleasantly surprised that it was a nonissue. It actually gets down quite low, especially when I don't use the comb attachment.
I enjoyed my bikini line shaving experience enough to use this device on my underarms and that's when I realized it heats up relatively quickly, which may be something to keep in mind if you're going for a longer shave sesh. Unlike the sold out Gillette razor we featured, Phillips is rechargeable, so you won’t have to buy batteries once it dies out.
