Bell Lager has officially launched the nationwide journey to Bell ObaFest 2026 with a vibrant, two-day regional activation in Gulu on October 9 and 10.
Celebrated as a major annual beer festival, Bell ObaFest brings Ugandans together through music, creative expression, food and beer experiences, showcasing the country’s vibrant social and cultural scene.
The celebrations kicked off on Independence Day at Password Lounge, which transformed into a hub of interactive entertainment. Revellers participated in competitive video game matchups and lively card games, while art enthusiasts enjoyed live painting sessions. Dance competitions further energised the crowd, with guest MCs, including MC Uganda, keeping the audience entertained throughout the evening.
Adding an international touch to the opening night, Nigerian recording artist Deobi headlined the event, thrilling revellers with popular hits that blended Afrobeats rhythms with energetic stage performances. One of the highlights of his set was the crowd-pleasing performance of “All Over You”, which sparked excitement across the venue and strengthened his connection with the Gulu audience.
The celebrations continued on October 10 at Kweyo Village Shoppers, where a second round of entertainment put local talent in the spotlight. Regional performers, including Freeboy, Eezzy and Pato Lover Boy, delivered energetic performances that kept the crowd engaged.
The musical experience was complemented by a lineup of DJs, including DJ TING, Deejay Crystal, DJ Meek 47 and DJ Frisco, while MC Lucky kept the audience entertained and maintained the momentum throughout the event.
Reflecting on the two-day activation, Lillian Kansiime, a representative of Uganda Breweries Limited, said the initiative was aimed at celebrating the brand through shared experiences centred on music, food and beer.
“Our goal with these activations is to celebrate the beers at the heart of these experiences by creating spaces where people can gather around great music, food, and a Bell Lager,” she said.
She added that the Gulu celebrations reflected the scale and energy audiences could expect at the main festival.
“Everything we delivered across these two days in Gulu captures the standard, scale, and energetic experience that consumers across the country can expect when the ultimate beer festival takes centre stage on November 7,” she said.
Following the successful two-day activation in Gulu, attention now turns to the next regional stops on the road to Bell ObaFest 2026, scheduled for November 7.
The flagship festival is expected to offer an even bigger platform for music, culture and social connection, bringing together revellers from across Uganda for a celebration of entertainment and shared experiences.
