Writing on Facebook on Monday, October 19, Gachagua called Dorcas his "gal" and opened the message by recalling the pain the couple shared on her birthday two years ago, shortly after his dramatic impeachment from the deputy presidency.
How Gachagua celebrated Dorcas' birthday
"Two years ago, on a day like today, we celebrated your birthday in shock, having been humiliated and disgraced by a man we had sacrificed everything to make king," he wrote, in what appeared to be a direct swipe at President William Ruto.
The message quickly shifted from reflection to ambition. Gachagua assured Dorcas that by her next birthday, the family's circumstances would look very different, promising to throw her "the biggest birthday celebration bash ever at the most coveted address in the country."
The phrase, widely understood to be a reference to State House, read as a clear signal of his intentions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
He added that the couple is preparing to "travel back home and engage the final gear in the liberation of our country," framing their personal journey as intertwined with a broader political mission.
Gachagua closed the tribute by invoking their long marriage.
"In our 37 years of marriage, I have made you many promises and kept most of them. This is one promise I SHALL honour and MUST honour," he wrote.

Dorcas has remained a visible and supportive presence throughout her husband's political career, including the turbulent period surrounding his impeachment in 2023.

Was Rigathi Gachagua invited to Raila Odinga's death anniversary?
TUKO.co.ke also highlighted facts about Gachagua’s absence from the first anniversary commemoration of Raila Odinga’s death, which he attributed to a pre-planned trip to the United States.
Gachagua praised Raila as a defender of Kenyans’ rights, then criticised politicians he accused of mocking him in the past.
He also questioned the state of ODM, saying the party had become a pale shadow of its former self.
