SpaceX-Tesla Merger: Passive Flows ‘Hack’, Could Bring More BTC Exposure to S&P 500
Tesla and SpaceX have formed a special committee to explore a merger that would create the largest equity in the world by market cap. In this clip, Sean Hagan breaks down why the deal is a “no brainer” on first principles: a combined company earns a higher index weighting and captures more passive flows than either firm alone. He connects it to the MSCI decision on Strategy and why passive flows matter for Bitcoin treasury companies. The hosts also ask whether the merger is a workaround for SpaceX’s S&P 500 inclusion.
