Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday met Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff at his residence after unidentified gunmen opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
Shroff was seen sitting shirtless on a sofa alongside Shinde, with bandages visible on his chest and left arm, in videos and photographs of the meeting shared by news agency ANI.
Shinde condemned the firing incident, describing it as “deeply concerning”. He said he had spoken to both the Mumbai Police Commissioner and Shroff following the incident.
Shroff's driver sustained a gunshot injury to his left hand and may require surgery. The actor suffered minor abrasions, was examined and later discharged, Hindustan Times reported quoting Nanavati Hospital sources.
Actress Disha Patani was also seen arriving at Shroff’s residence following the incident. A video shared by paparazzi showed Patani reaching the actor’s home.
Shroff and Patani were rumoured to have dated for several years, though neither has publicly confirmed their relationship.
The incident occurred on Sunday when Shroff was returning after playing a football match. Unidentified gunmen opened fire at his car near Pushpa Park, police said.
The Mumbai Police had confirmed that the actor was safe and had not sustained any gunshot injuries. However, subsequent reports said he suffered minor injuries from gunpowder and glass shards, while his driver was also injured.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining CCTV footage to identify the suspects.
A social media post claiming that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had taken responsibility for the attack has also gone viral.
