PGA Tour highlights: 2026 Baycurrent Classic, final round
Relive the biggest moments and top shots from the final round of the 2026 Baycurrent Classic from Yokohama Country Club!
PGA Tour vet David Lipsky and caddie Darren Woolard split up before the final round of the Baycurrent Classic in Japan.
According to Golfweek, Tour officials confirmed Lipsky teed off at Yokohama Country Club on Sunday with a new caddie. A source told Golfweek that it was an acrimonious split between Lipsky and Woolard after 54 holes. The new caddie’s identity was not verified.
Lipsky, who opened the tournament outside of Tokyo with a 5-under 66 on Thursday, finished T-54 at 3 under par for the tournament. He posted 72-73 on Friday and Saturday, respectively, with Woolard on the bag before shooting a 1-under 70 to close out the event.
Sunday’s final round was anything but pretty for Lipsky who started on the 10th tee and bogeyed four of his first five holes.
His back nine was an entirely different story. The 38-year-old posted a bogey-free, 5-under 31 to offset the damage done earlier in the day.
It’s the second consecutive month where a player has gone on to finish without the bagman he began a tournament.
At the Biltmore Championship last month, Alejandro Tosti saw Cliff Ellis drop the clubs in the middle of Tosti’s opening round and walk off the course.
Tosti’s best finish of the season came last week in Utah, where he tied for 13th. He has made the cut just five times in 23 tournaments played this season.
Lipsky has had a slightly better year by comparison. He finished solo second to Matt Fitzpatrick at the Valspar Championship in March and has made 12 out of 20 cuts.
Most importantly, he sits No. 87 in the FedExCup fall standings. Tosti is No. 167 in the standings. The top 100 will earn 2027 PGA Tour cards with the top 125 players earning conditional status.
Cliff Ellis, who has looped for Tosti on and off in recent years, had enough, leaving Tosti’s bag during their ninth hole of the day.
