The International Cricket Council has finalised the dates for several major international tournaments, including the T20 World Cup in 2028 and the World Test Championship final in 2029.
The schedule forms part of an updated global events calendar shared with ICC member boards following a series of meetings held in Dubai earlier this month.
According to the calendar, Pakistan will host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028 from September 7 to October 1, with 12 teams competing for the prestigious title.
The tournament will be followed by the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028, jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, from October 12 to November 12.
The two competitions will be staged in consecutive windows, with only an 11-day gap between the conclusion of the women’s tournament and the beginning of the men’s event.
Unlike the women’s competition, the men’s T20 World Cup will feature 20 teams, continuing the expanded format of the global tournament.
Meanwhile, the ICC has also confirmed the dates for the 2029 World Test Championship (WTC) final, which will be played in England from June 8 to 12.
The one-off contest will determine the winner of the WTC cycle 2027-29, with the two leading teams in the standings qualifying for the final.
In another significant scheduling development, the ICC has revised the window for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2030. The tournament, which was initially expected to take place in June, has now been shifted to July and August.
England, Ireland and Scotland will jointly host the 20-team competition, having previously been awarded the hosting rights by the ICC.
The updated calendar covers a busy period of international cricket between the 2027 and 2031 ODI World Cups.
