Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has opened up about months of severe pain and mobility challenges, revealing that a health condition that began as a minor problem eventually left her struggling to walk.
The actress shared the experience in a video posted on Instagram on Saturday, October 10, 2026, to mark her 25th birthday, while explaining her prolonged absence from social media.
Daniels said she had lost the freedom to move around as she wished for several months, adding that her condition deteriorated over time despite initially appearing minor.
“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.
She explained that the situation became significantly worse after the Children’s Day carnival she organised, with repeated medical tests and increasingly severe pain affecting her ability to move.
“The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” the actress said.
Daniels added that she was gradually recovering and expressed gratitude to God for what she described as significant progress, while acknowledging the emotional difficulties associated with her condition.
Actress seeks healing, speaks about dependence on others
The mother of two said she was looking to God for peace and healing as she navigated the challenging period, noting that her condition had left her unable to carry out some everyday activities independently.
She expressed concern about having to depend increasingly on other people for assistance, contrasting her present condition with her previously energetic lifestyle.
Despite the difficulties, Daniels said she remained grateful for her life and the progress she believed she had made in her recovery.
“In any situation I find myself, I will continuously give all glory and adoration to God Almighty for what He’s done in my life, what He’s doing, and what He’s yet to do. So help me, God,” she said.
The actress did not disclose a specific medical diagnosis in the video, but indicated that she had undergone several tests during the period.

In the same video, Daniels disclosed that she had moved closer to the people she loves, particularly her two children, as she continued to navigate her recovery.
She said she initially rented the property but later decided to purchase it after developing an attachment to the place.
According to her, several items in the house, including furniture, were gifts from people who supported her.
The actress described the period as one marked by blessings despite her health struggles, expressing appreciation for the support and kindness she had received.
Actress’s marital crisis remains in public discussion
Daniels’ latest disclosure comes months after her separation from Ned Nwoko, the senator representing Delta North, following the collapse of their marriage.
In May, the actress reportedly dismissed the possibility of remarrying after the breakdown of the relationship.
The former couple attracted public attention between October 2025 and early 2026 amid allegations involving drug abuse, domestic violence and other related claims. The allegations formed part of their public dispute, with both parties threatening legal action against each other.
Neither has recently shared extensive details about their relationship or family arrangements, while Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, recently dismissed online reports suggesting that the actress had reconciled with the lawmaker.
The actress’s birthday video has now offered an account of the health difficulties she said she had faced in recent months, alongside her hope for continued recovery.
