Parties and coalitions are doing all their best to attract the support of the vast majority of the Gambian people. Nothing on the ground shows that the Gambian voters have decided what to do on 5th December, 2026. Hence one can safely say that the majority are yet to decide. Predictions are being made of mass defection of the opposition to the ruling NPP.
However, social media reports are also showing splits of political parties and movements whose leaders have decided to support the ruling party, and where their membership would go after the cross-carpeting of their leaders is still uncertain. Time will tell.
The political situation therefore is very fluid and the unexpected may be the outcome. Foroyaa will continue to monitor the situation and give details of the activities of the political stakeholders as the situation progresses.
