The Baltimore Ravens notched a 30-23 overtime win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, capped off by a game-sealing interception from safety Kyle Hamilton.
The interception was thrown by Falcons backup quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who checked in for an injured Michael Penix Jr. in the overtime period.
Penix suffered a ribs injury on a big hit near the end of regulation. He was able to return a few plays later, but did not take the field after the Ravens' lengthy touchdown drive on their first possession of overtime.
Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey says Hamilton was vocally excited when Tagovailoa entered the game.
“Kyle was like, ‘Tua in the game!’ He was like, ‘He gonna throw me one.’ It was the most excited I’ve probably seen Kyle," Humphrey said on his podcast.
While Penix was unable to finish the game, his ribs injury is not expected to be long-term. In fact, head coach Kevin Stefanski expects his quarterback to be ready for this coming Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
