Content creator, Chioma Onyeagba, popularly known as Empresschiii, has said that young Nigerians are increasingly turning social media platforms into sources of income and business opportunities.
She noted that platforms such as TikTok and Instagram were creating opportunities for young people to monetise their creativity, build personal brands and establish businesses beyond the traditional employment system.
She said, “The creator economy is opening new possibilities for young Nigerians to turn their creativity, skills and digital presence into sustainable opportunities.”
According to her, content creation could evolve from a hobby into a career, personal brand or business capable of generating value beyond social media.
“What starts as content creation can grow into a career, a brand or even a business that creates value beyond social media,” she added.
The development reflects a growing trend among young Nigerians who are leveraging online visibility to attract brand partnerships, promote products and services, and connect directly with potential customers.
For small-business owners and entrepreneurs, social media offers a relatively affordable means of showcasing products, reaching wider audiences and building brand awareness without depending solely on conventional advertising channels.
Empresschiii, who began content creation in 2022, has expanded her online presence through brand collaborations and the establishment of EmpressLuxeHairs, a beauty business serving customers in Nigeria and abroad.
