Samyang Foods (003230) is holding a festival in Pyeongchang, Gangwon State, that combines trail running, camping and yoga. The company is using Peppo, a new character for its Buldak brand, across a range of outdoor programs.
Samyang Foods said on the 23rd that it will hold the "Buldak Burning Festa With Peppo" over two days, from the 24th to the 25th, at Samyang Round Hill in Pyeongchang, Gangwon State.
The centerpiece of the event is the Burning Trail Run, which takes participants across the grasslands and mountain ridges of Samyang Round Hill. Three courses of 23 kilometers, 13 kilometers and 5 kilometers are available depending on runners' experience and fitness. Samyang Round Hill is a high-altitude organic pasture located in the Daegwallyeong area of Gangwon State.
The 23-kilometer course runs along the Baekdudaegan ridgeline from Gonsinbong Peak to the East Sea Observatory, with a cumulative elevation gain of 860 meters, and is aimed at intermediate to advanced runners. The 13-kilometer course links the grasslands and ridges of Samyang Round Hill, while the 5-kilometer course is designed for families and first-time trail runners.
A Burning Camping program follows the trail run. The venue will feature areas for sampling Buldak products, food trucks, a sauna, a boxing zone and a treasure hunt. In the evening, a Burning Ceremony will be staged around Peppo, the new Buldak character.
Peppo is a new Buldak character meant to embody free-spirited and unpredictable energy. Samyang Foods has placed character-themed programs throughout the event so participants can experience the Buldak brand firsthand.
On the second day, a Burning Wellness program will run. It includes forest walks, yoga and singing bowls, giving participants a chance to rest after the running and camping.
A Samyang Foods official said the Buldak Burning Festa was designed to let people blow off everyday stress through the brand's intense energy and feel a renewed sense of vitality and release.
