After being available to pre-order for a month, 8BitDo has now released its Tomb Raider 30th anniversary edition collection. The collection includes the Ultimate 3 and Pro 3 controllers and can be purchased on the 8BitDo website and on Amazon.
Last month, 8BitDo announced two special edition controllers in celebration of Tomb Raider's 30th anniversary. The controllers, which have been available to pre-order since the announcement, have now finally been released, although not in all regions.
The new controllers are the 8BitDo Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox - Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition and the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad - Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition. Both controllers feature cosmetic designs inspired by the Tomb Raider franchise, but are functionally the same as their standard variants.
The Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox - Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition costs $119.99 on Amazon and on the 8BitDo eShop and on Amazon. The 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad - Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition is the cheaper alternative with a $79.99 price tag, and is also available to purchase on Amazon and on 8BitDo's website.
8BitDo is also selling the two controllers in the UK via Amazon, but their release date is not until November. The Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox - Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition is available to pre-order for £94.99 and will be released on November 13, while the 8BitDo Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad - Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition is £74.99 and will be released on the same day.
In addition to the release of the new controllers, fans of the Tomb Raider franchise can grab several titles at a discount such as Tomb Raider: Anniversary which is available for $2 on the PS Store; and Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, which includes Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015), and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (2018). The trilogy is on sale for $7.17 (original price is $71.98) on Steam.
