La Gazzetta dello Sport
‘Scempions’: The pink paper plays on scempio, meaning shambles, as it notes that four defeats from four Italian sides in a single Champions League round had never happened before. Roma went from 3-1 up to a 4-3 defeat, with Real Madrid turning it all around in eight minutes. Gasperini lost Koné and Dybala to injury, while Mourinho admits the Giallorossi “were superior, then…” Como were also beaten after leading, losing to Feyenoord, a day after Inter and Napoli both fell.
‘Milan and Juve, it’s over to you’: It is now down to Amorim and Spalletti to restore some pride in Europe. Milan’s young Devils go hunting for goals in Salzburg, with Camarda handed a start for the first time in almost two years alongside Cisse. In Vigo, Alajbegovic leads Juventus, and Spalletti insists: “We can go all the way.”
‘Atalanta (almost) favourites for the cup’: The Conference League campaign continues against Pafos.
‘Inter defenceless, but Chivu won’t change it’: There is a goalkeeper problem, and not only that, with Josep Martinez under the spotlight.
‘A deal worth Tresoldi (actually, more)’: The headline plays on tre soldi (“three pennies”), an Italian phrase for something cheap, as the tug of war between Italy and Germany for the Club Brugge striker continues. In his La Sveglia column, Luigi Garlando imagines Mancini phoning Tresoldi after his hat-trick at San Siro to persuade him to choose the Azzurri.

‘Special beffa’: A play on Mourinho’s ‘Special One’ nickname, with beffa meaning a cruel sting. “Real, three goals in seven minutes. Roma overturned: 3-4.” Gasperini had the Blancos beaten until the 82nd minute, then “the stage belongs entirely to Mou” in “a nightmare finish” at the Olimpico. De Roon opened the scoring, Mbappé equalised and Malen struck twice, before José’s substitutions proved decisive. Espí and Endrick both scored, and Rüdiger sealed it. The injuries to Koné and Dybala weighed heavily, and with Como beaten 3-2 by Feyenoord, it was a flop for the Italian sides: four defeats. Alberto Polverosi’s column calls it “the night of the absurd”.
‘Inter under scrutiny: the list of mistakes’: Six goals conceded in two games. The paper lists the attitude, a lack of intensity and Pep Martinez’s blackouts, with seven defeats in their last eight European matches. Chivu: “We need to run more.”
‘Allegri, a different Napoli in Venice’: Four changes are ready, with Meret, Lobotka, Spinazzola and Lang to start. Neres is a doubt, while Alisson, Olivera and Anguissa return. A training-camp retreat is being considered if results stall.
‘All eyes on Camarda’: Milan are in Salzburg in the Europa League at 18:45. Ramos drops to the bench and the youngster gets a start. Amorim: “I need time.”
‘A Juve ready for battle’: Spalletti tries to shake things up before facing Celta in Vigo (21:00): “I want them ferocious and venomous. I ask the players for respect for the history of our club.” It is a chance for Woltemade.

‘Wolte svolti?’: A play on svolta (turning point), asking whether this is the night Woltemade turns things around. The German has an opportunity in Vigo he cannot waste, both for Spalletti tonight and for his own future. He has been disappointing so far and must convince the coach, the fans and the club, who are already looking for a new striker to partner Kolo in January. Lucio: “I’m counting on him and I’ve already switched on battle mode. I’m asking for ferocity. This is a second Champions League: we want to go all the way.” Conceição goes further: “Me like Salah? I can do better…” In his front-page editorial, Guido Vaciago urges Juve to wipe out the Cagliari draw and aim for the trophy.
‘Milan: Amorim discovers Camarda’: “A chance in Salzburg: finally.” The Under-21 striker gets his opportunity in the stadium that launched Haaland. The coach: “The future? I’ve already spoken to Cardinale about next summer…”
‘Diao illusion, Feyenoord overturn Como’: 3-2 defeat in Rotterdam for Cesc Fabregas’ side.
‘Haaland not enough’: “A sensational PSG, four slaps for City. What a show!” Doué scored and provided an assist.
‘Mancini, Tresoldi a mirage. But Doumbia…’: The Italy coach’s pursuit of Tresoldi continues.
‘Faith in Toro: Abate launches Operation Cacciamani’: Ilkhan is out for three weeks.
