Marise Pollard, wife of Springbok rugby player Handré Pollard, marked a major milestone on 20 October 2026, sharing an emotional tribute to her daughter Isabella Tanya on the little girl's first birthday. Posting a series of photos on her Instagram account @marisepollard alongside snapshots of herself and baby Bella, Marise admitted she had rewritten the caption more than once through tears. "Can't write a caption because I've cried too many times, like HOW is she ONE? You were just a dream like 5 minutes ago. The fastest year of parenthood yet," she wrote.
Marise's words for her daughter
The heartfelt message, written in both English and Afrikaans, described Isabella as wild, gentle, and loving, a child who moves through life with her father's green eyes and a wide smile. Marise said she could watch her daughter all day and saw so much of herself reflected in the little girl. Isabella, who goes by Bella, is the couple's second child. Her first birthday brought out all the emotion a milestone like this tends to carry.
The post touched something real for those who read it. Marise wrote that she does not know what she did to deserve being Bella's mother, ending her caption with gratitude and a declaration that the little girl is her dream come true. "My best friend forever, my dream come true. You are everything," she wrote.
