Japan has launched a mission to Mars' moon, Phobos, to help unravel the mysteries surrounding the origin of life on Earth and the formation of the solar system. The country aims to bring back at least 10 grams of soil and rock samples to Earth by 2031. These samples could potentially reveal the secrets behind the origins of Phobos and Deimos. Meanwhile, China also has plans to retrieve samples from Mars. It now remains to be seen who will emerge successful first in this space race.
