Sean "Diddy" Combs is making headlines again, this time not for music or lawsuits, but for a reported brawl inside a New Jersey prison that left him needing emergency medical attention.
According to TMZ, which cited multiple sources inside Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution, Combs sustained a serious head injury after getting into a fight with fellow inmate Christopher Coke, a Jamaican drug lord widely known as "Dudus," on Friday, 9 October 2026. An ambulance reportedly transported Diddy out of the facility in the early hours of Saturday morning for treatment at an outside medical facility.
What sparked the prison brawl?
The alleged confrontation was triggered by an NBC News report that painted a picture of Diddy enjoying comparatively comfortable conditions behind bars. Prison officials responded by conducting at least two raids and seizing mobile phones belonging to several inmates, including Coke's.
TMZ's sources described Coke as a powerful figure within the prison, despite Diddy being its most high-profile resident. Coke has been serving a 23-year sentence since 2012 and was reportedly furious about losing privileges after the raids. He and other inmates allegedly directed their frustration at Combs, holding him responsible for the increased scrutiny.
Following the reported fight, prison authorities moved both Combs and Coke to the Special Housing Unit, where they were expected to remain for approximately two weeks. Diddy had reportedly already been confined to the unit in the aftermath of the NBC News report, and the altercation allegedly took place during a brief break he was allowed outside the restricted area.
Social Media Weighs In
News of the reported fight spread quickly after TMZ posted about the alleged incident on X, and social media users were quick to respond with a mix of humour and pointed commentary.
