The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers are set to face off in a rivalry matchup at Arrowhead Stadium this afternoon that could have massive implications for the AFC West playoff picture later in the season.
At 4-0, Kansas City is fresh off a bye week and will have more than just home-field advantage against the winless Chargers in Week 6.
This week, Chiefs Wire sat down with Gavino Borquez of Chargers Wire to get the inside scoop on Los Angeles before today's game.
Take a look at Borquez's answers to our top questions below:
How hot is Jim Harbaugh's seat right now? Do you expect him to be fired if the Chargers lose in Week 6?
"No. Management and ownership are not expected to fire Jim Harbaugh after just five games, especially given his back-to-back 11-win playoff campaigns in 2024 and 2025. More pressure is currently directed at offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, especially if his unit continues to struggle on Sunday."
What is your assessment of Justin Herbert's performance through five games?
"With five touchdowns to seven interceptions through five games, Justin Herbert is playing the worst football he has in his seven-year NFL career. He is forcing plays, struggling with a new and disjointed offensive system and dealing with persistent offensive line and receiver injuries."
Who has been Los Angeles' most underrated contributor this season?
"Defensive tackle Teair Tart. The Chargers’ defense has come on strong the past few weeks and one of the biggest contributors is Tart. Tart has done the dirty work in the run game on a weekly basis, but he has really developed into a solid interior pass rusher, earning a 68.4 pass-rush grade, which ranks 26th out of 133 qualified interior defensive linemen."
Final score prediction: Who will win this week, and why?
"The Chiefs remain dominant at home and ranks near the top of the league in scoring, while the Chargers are struggling offensively and trying to piece together a heavily injured lineup. Fresh off a bye week, Kansas City should find success at getting to Herbert and forcing a couple of turnovers. Final score: Chiefs 27, Chargers 14"
