Trump claims Russia and Ukraine agreed to energy ceasefire “because I said so”
A reporter challenged U.S. President Donald Trump, pointing out that Russia and Ukraine had both indicated they had not agreed to an energy ceasefire.
“They agreed,” Trump replied. “You know why? Because I said they agreed. That’s why. They agreed because I said they agreed.”
Trump had announced an immediate halt to attacks on energy infrastructure, but neither side had clearly confirmed a mutual agreement.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has reported continued Russian strikes on its energy facilities.
