Almost 300,000 bags of rice have been distributed to indigent families and vulnerable sectors in Caloocan City from May to October this year, the city government said.
The Caloocan City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD) resumed its rice distribution on Tuesday, October 20, with First Lady Louise Araneta- Marcos and Caloocan Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan leading the activity.
(In addition to the programs we implemented during the energy and fuel crisis, we continue to look into what else we can do to ease the impact of the crisis on our citizens.)
Among the beneficiaries are persons with disabilities (PWDs), non-pensioner senior citizens, minimum-wage earners, seasonal workers, teachers, students, and residents without existing monthly local government subsidies.
