The Los Angeles Rams already lost one elite wide receiver due to injury this week, and are now at risk of losing another.
Puka Nacua left Thursday’s practice with a calf injury. The severity of this injury was initially unclear, but NFL insider Ian Rapoport provided a telling update on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” show Friday morning.
“Yesterday, we learned that Puka Nacua left practice with a calf injury, went to go have tests. My understanding is after the tests, it was more minor than anything else,” Rapoport said.
“I wouldn’t say precautionary, because it’s not nothing. But at least not a significant injury. What it doesn’t tell us is whether Puka Nacua would be able to play this weekend for the Los Angeles Rams. And considering they do not have Devante; considering how short-handed they are… It’s safe to say, up in the air for Puka Nacua on Sunday,” he added.
Nacua’s calf injury not being viewed as serious is a relief for Rams fans.
But the 2-4 Rams can’t afford to keep losing games, and potentially having arguably their best offensive player sidelined against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday would be a critical blow to their chances of winning.
Fans will have to keep a close eye on Nacua’s status as Sunday nears.
