Police investigating a series of high-value luggage thefts on trains in and out of London have released images of a suspect.
One of the most recent thefts happened on a service from King’s Cross late on July 8.
The victim left her suitcase, containing belongings worth £30,000, on the luggage rack.
But it wasn’t there when she reached her stop and CCTV showed a man getting off with it at Peterborough.
British Transport Police (BTP) Constable Chris Pepper said: ‘Luggage theft can be very upsetting and distressing for victims.

King’s Cross and St Pancras are among the worst affected of London’s major stations when it comes to luggage theft.
According to a report by MoneySuperMarket, BTP recorded 1,812 bag thefts on UK trains and at stations last year – a rise of nearly 30% since 2023.
London’s King’s Cross (177 bags stolen), St Pancras (140) and Euston (88) were the top three stations with the most in 2025.
A crackdown on criminal gangs targeting passengers has seen those numbers drop by 15% this year.
