The collision occurred just before 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Friel and Besserer streets in the Sandy Hill neighbourhood. The woman had been on foot.
Police closed the street to traffic for several hours to investigate, but reopened it by mid-afternoon.
The collision came a day after the city’s 29th traffic fatality of 2026, and a plea from the Ottawa Police Service for all road users to make safety a priority.
