Money transfer app Wise has named former NICE CEO Barak Eilam as non-executive director and chair designate.

Should Eilam become chair in January, he would take over from David Wells who became chair in 2021 and is set to step down as chair and director in April; 2027.
Eilam will also be chair of Wise's nominating and corporate governance committees.
He has almost three decades of experience in the fintech market, having spent most of that time with cloud platform provider NICE and serving as its CEO between 2014 and 2024.
He also serves on the board of a number of other fintech firms including FactSet, CCC Intelligent Solutions, Similarweb and, previously, Payoneer," Wise noted.
Wise Co-Founder & CEO Kristo Kaarmann welcomed Eilam's appointment and praised his predecessor., under whose chairmanship, Wise "scaled our impact for people and businesses globally and became a dual-listed company".
