The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has postponed the inauguration and unveiling of its National Campaign Council from Tuesday, October 20, to Monday, October 26, 2026.
The party attributed the postponement to an overseas engagement involving its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Osa Director, announced the change in a statement issued on Monday, expressing regret over the inconvenience caused by the adjustment.
“The shift is occasioned by the very tight schedule of our Presidential Candidate, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, who has a very important engagement overseas,” the statement said.
The party appealed to its members and supporters nationwide to remain focused on its electoral objectives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this shift and urge everyone not to lose focus on the goal of ensuring victory for our presidential candidate and all NDC candidates in the forthcoming presidential and general elections,” the statement added.
The inauguration of the National Campaign Council is expected to mark the formal commencement of the party’s nationwide campaign coordination ahead of the 2027 elections.
