While I don’t buy into the idea that we’re all sat around waiting for our knight in shining Stone Island to get down on one knee, I do subscribe to the narrative that diamonds – including the engagement ring kind – are a girl’s best friend.
Call me a hypocrite, but I’m an Essex girl, and there’s nothing like a good bit of jewellery... flashy rings included. In fact, if you do find yourself on the hunt for a little engagement ring inspiration, celebrity rocks offer plenty to boot.
Often the most opulent, decadent and refined options we mere mortals are likely to see, the engagement rings of the rich and famous are reliably a sight to behold.
Having picked out a few of the biggest, boldest and most beautiful celebrity engagement rings of the past few years for your perusal, I’ve also found the best close-fitting alternative style from The Diamond Store – the largest outfitter of online diamonds and gems, with roots in London’s storied Hatton Garden.
From Zendaya’s elongated cushion-cut to Miley Cyrus’ bold, structural beauty, you’d be surprised by the similarly cut options out there. Prepare to be dazzled.
Zoe Kravitz & Harry Styles
Kicking off with the diamond that had Harries everywhere in despair, Zoe Kravitz’ internet- and heart-breaking ring has appeared on more than a few Pinterest boards since. With three engagement rings under her belt (a girl can dream), I think Styles has shown his style chops with this choice, and this is by far my favourite of the trio.
Timeless, elegant, and undeniably cool-girl, her ring is characterised by its 5ct elongated cushion-cut natural diamond, set in warm 18ct yellow gold with a sleek bezel setting. Substantial – with a major rock – but understated.

Miley might buy herself flowers, but Maxx Morando bought her the ultimate sculptural engagement ring. Self-assured and elegant – not unlike the woman herself – Miley’s ring features an elongated cushion-cut diamond, set east–west, where the stone stretches boldly across her finger. The diamond itself sits low within a rounded bezel band of yellow gold.

Dua Lipa & Callum Turner

This one goes without saying, but everything that Dua Lipa does is chic. Turns out, though, that her now-husband Callum Turner has equally as refined tastes, as proved by his choice of engagement ring.
Although unconfirmed, I’d speculate from pictures that Dua’s ring is an approximately 2 carat round diamond, set in a demi-rubover style and a thick, solid gold band.

One of the best-dressed couples in Hollywood, Mr and Mrs Zendaya debuted their diamond at the Golden Globe awards earlier this year... and, boy oh boy, it’s a beauty.
Punctuated by an east-west set diamond, the ring is comprised of an (estimated) 5-carat cushion-cut diamond in a distinctive horizontal setting with lightly contrasting silver-toned claws. Elevated, timeless, and undeniably audacious.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce

As T and T declared on Instagram, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”. Before tying the knot earlier this summer, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce solidified their emblematic coupledom with a (frankly enormous) brilliant-cut old mine diamond bezel-set in yellow gold with filigree detail work on the side of the band, a piece that feels in keeping with Swift’s own many eras and aesthetic periods.
