Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurtshas already been ruled out of the Week 6 matchup against the Carolina Panthers because of a superficial blood clot in his calf. The unexpected news has left Eagles fans frustrated as the team prepares to face Carolina without its starting quarterback. Meanwhile, former NFL star Michael Robinson has drawn even more attention to Hurts’ injury update after sharing his own theory about the situation.
During an appearance on NFL GameDay Kickoff on Thursday, Robinson hinted that Hurts might be distancing himself from the team’s struggles to avoid being held responsible for what he views as a disappointing season.
“I’m thinking that way, if I’m Jalen Hurts, or anybody in Jalen Hurts’ camp, I’m saying, ‘Well if everybody’s hurt, I’m hurt, too,’” Robinson said.

“To me, it looked like Jalen is kind of getting himself out of the fray so that this lost season. He’s pulling himself out so that this doesn’t look like it’s on me.”
Robinson’s comments sparked considerable backlash from fans and even drew a sharp response from former NFL star Robert Griffin III, who pushed back against the negative narrative surrounding the Eagles quarterback.
“THIS IS RIDICULOUS. The negative narratives around Jalen Hurts have to stop,” Griffin wrote.
“Idiot take. Hurts is not a quitter. Such disrespect,” a fan remarked.
“Literally played the game in London with the clots this might be the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard,” one user wrote.
“Not even a Hurts guy but this is absolutely ridiculous,” a fan chimed in.
Hurts’ absence presents another significant challenge for a Philadelphia team that has struggled to find consistency in recent weeks. The Eagles enter Week 6 riding a three-game losing streak after beginning the season with two consecutive wins.
With Hurts unavailable, Philadelphia will turn to backup quarterback Tanner McKee to lead the offense against Carolina. McKee now faces the task of helping the Eagles get back on track while their starting quarterback recovers from his injury.
