SENAPATI, Oct 11: The All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has asserted that the repeated attacks at border villages of Manipur (India) by KNA-B is a clear case of foreign aggression and a matter of serious concern for the Indian National security.
The student body has also strongly condemned the calculated terror attacks and barbaric acts perpetrated against Naga people by Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B), Kuki armed militants under Suspension of Operation(SoO) pact with Govt of India and Kuki Village Volunteers Eastern Zone (VVEZ) on October 9 and 10, 2026 in pursuit of their wild dream, Kukiland/Separate Administration/Union Territory based on their fabricated history.
The loss of six precious Naga lives across two separate locations on the same day represented a grave assault on the dignity, security and collective existence of the Naga people and the indigenous people in the State.
Four Naga village guards identified as Machungammang Daimai, Dibambou Ringkangmai, Ajinbou R and Ramningpou Robert Gangmei were mercilessly killed during an intense armed assault by Kuki armed militants under SoO pact with Govt of India at Makui village and Tapon village in Kangpokpi on October 10, 2026.
There are reports of the involvement of armed cadres belonging to KNF-P, KNF-N and KRA, ANSAM said.
Even more horrifying was the mutilation and beheading of one victim's head which still remains missing, thereby denying his bereaved family the dignity of a proper burial.
Two Naga civilians––Mathangambou Chawang and Nashon Pame were critically left injured in the attack while several houses and properties were burnt down to ashes.
In a separate cross-border attack at Ningchou village and Kamjong headquarters by Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B), Kuki armed militants under SoO and VVEZ on October 9 and 10, two Naga civilians–– Ngachanso Ningshen and Leishisan Leishadang, were merciless killed while two Naga civil defence volunteers sustained gunshot injuries.
Nine residential houses were reportedly burnt down to ashes.
Assuring that it stands in unwavering solidarity with the victim Naga community, the bereaved families and every Naga village enduring this reign of fear and violence, ANSAM has extended their sincere condolences.
The targeting of village defenders, the killing of civilians and the destruction of residential homes and churches cannot be normalised, excused or buried beneath political rhetoric, ANSAM stated.
Equally condemnable is the claim made by Manipur Police through its official press release that the overall law and order situation remained normal during the preceding 24 hours.
The student body asked, "How can a Government declare normalcy when Naga villages are under armed assault, civilians are being slaughtered, homes are being torched and families are mourning their dead?”
ANSAM went on to ask if the suffering of Naga communities is being deliberately disregarded or whether the Government is attempting to manufacture an illusion of peace.
ANSAM denounced that such a declaration is an affront to the victims, their families and the conscience of every peace-loving citizen.
"Normalcy cannot be manufactured through press notes while blood is being shed. Silence is not peace, denial is not governance and indifference in the face of suffering is complicity," it said.
ANSAM urged the State Government and the Government of India for an impartial, high-level investigation, identification and prosecution of all perpetrators, recovery and return of the severed head, and effective security arrangements for vulnerable Naga settlements.
Demanding justice for all the victims massacred by Kuki armed militants and the right to live peacefully, ANSAM added that the Government of Manipur and the Government of India must cease issuing hollow assurances and demonstrate their commitment through decisive action.
