PETALING JAYA: The human resources ministry has lodged reports with the relevant authorities over alleged attempts to interfere in an ongoing governance review at Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp).
The ministry said it lodged the reports after receiving information and evidence relating to the alleged interference, which included attempts to spread misleading information, influence individuals within the agency and divert attention from matters under scrutiny.
In a statement, the ministry said such actions could undermine the integrity and independence of the review and investigations.
"The review process must be conducted independently, transparently and systematically, without any interference or undue influence," the ministry said.
"The ministry will not compromise on any attempts to use positions, influence or networks to undermine the integrity of the process."
The ministry said it was working with TalentCorp to strengthen the agency's governance, compliance, approval procedures and operational processes to improve transparency, integrity and accountability.
A review by the ministry and TalentCorp management had identified several areas in need of improvement, including its constitution, compliance with internal policies and controls, and integrity and accountability mechanisms.
The review and investigations involve TalentCorp employees and management, all of whom have been asked to cooperate fully to ensure that the process is fair and objective.
The ministry said TalentCorp's operations and strategic programmes would continue as usual throughout the process.
It said TalentCorp would remain focused on its national talent development mandate, including improving graduate employability, developing future-ready skills and strengthening workforce participation.
