South African actor Tumisho Masha isn't taking insults lying down. After being targeted by supporters of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) who branded him a "failed actor," Masha took to X on 19 October 2026 to deliver a sharp, numbers-driven rebuttal that set the internet ablaze.
Rather than responding with words alone, Masha posted a graphic that put his television career stats side by side with the EFF's 2024 national election results. The comparison was impossible to ignore.
Masha lets the numbers do the talking
Tumisho Masha wrote in his post:
"@EFFSouthAfrica supporters call me a failed actor. But we all know: men lie, women lie, but numbers don't! EFF got 1.53M votes in 2024. Champions reached 3.7M viewers in a month; Blood & Water S4 has 8.1M Netflix views globally. Failed actor? My CV disagrees! 'I'm not your peer.'"
The graphic broke down the figures plainly: his Netflix series Blood & Water Season 4 pulled in 8.1 million views globally, while his Mzansi Magic show Champions reached 3.7 million viewers in South Africa in February 2024 alone. The EFF, by comparison, received 1.53 million votes in the 2024 national election. The graphic also carried several pointed taglines, including:
"If I ever started a party, I'm pretty sure I could get more numbers than EFF. I think Dr Malema was right... I am not his peer. I'm an international actor. EFF is just a small party."
Peeps back Masha up online
The post racked up 46,000 views and drew a wave of responses from peeps who rallied behind the actor.

"You have been in the acting industry longer than the EFF has been an organisation. This is why they are finding it so difficult to deal with you. You are their father. 😩"

"Mop the floor with these clowns, Tumisho. 😆😅🤣"
@Honorabledawgs kept it short and sweet:
"Cook them thoroughly."
Tumelo Masha cleared his name against GBV accusations
An X user attacked Tumisho Masha, calling him a failed actor and woman beater while accusing him of being paid to post political content.
