Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton allegedly have new drama after the latter didn’t participate in Jonathan Van Meter’s new biography, “Citizen Kim.”
Van Meter revealed in a Hollywood Reporter interview published Friday that “late in the process” of writing the book, out Oct. 27, he told Kardashian he should interview her former boss.
“Kim checked and said Paris agreed,” the journalist said, “but I had to go through her publicist.”
That request “was unusual” to Van Meter, who noted that Kardashian “just sent a text” to everyone else that gave quotes for the book.
Van Meter, 63, explained that he “sent questions” and connected with Hilton’s assistant, but the interview “was canceled 17 times over about four months.
“Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she’d tell me,” he told the outlet.
Kardashian, however, “was so mad” when she found out about Hilton’s flakiness, Van Meter claimed.
“It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them,” he said. ” The creation turning on the creator.”
Though, a source tells Page Six that it’s not true Kardashian is mad at Hilton, and that they are both involved in each other’s upcoming projects and continue to always support one another.
Page Six has reached out to Kardashian and Hilton’s reps for comment.
Famously, Kardashian, 46, was Hilton’s personal stylist and assistant, and they became close friends in the early 2000s.
But the socialites drifted when Kardashian’s star power grew from her sex tape with Ray J and her hit E! reality show, and they stopped being friends.
Their drama escalated in 2008, when Hilton, 45, referred to Kardashian’s butt as “cottage cheese inside a big trash bag.”
The following year, Kardashian told Howard Stern, “I haven’t talked to [Hilton] in a few years.”
“We were good friends … It was just one time we didn’t speak again,” the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alum explained. “I did speak to her once when she went on a radio station and said that my ass looks like cellulite in a trash bag or something, she did call me to apologize … cottage cheese.”
In a 2011 Harper’s Bazaar interview, Kardashian confirmed the reality stars “don’t really talk.”
“As I always say, everyone comes into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. And she was in my life for a long time,” the SKIMS founder said at the time. “here comes a point in life where you just grow apart and realize you’re not as similar as you thought.”
Kardashian even excluded Hilton from her 2014 wedding to Kanye West.
However, the former besties reunited two years later at Kris Jenner’s annual Christmas Eve party, where they posed for a photo together.
As the two continued to reconnect, Hilton gushed to People in 2019 that “it’s been really nice” being friends with Kardashian again.
“I’ve known her my whole life and we’ve been having so much fun together lately,” the “Simple Life” star said.
In 2020, Hilton appeared in a Skims fall campaign, while Kardashian returned the love by attending Hilton’s wedding to Carter Reum in November 2021.
“Citizen Kim” hits bookshelves on Tuesday.
