ULSAN — Ulsan is paying for housekeeping services such as cleaning and laundry for families raising five or more children aged 18 or younger, in a move aimed at easing the caregiving burden on large families and supporting their daily routines.
The program covers 41 households registered as residents of the city that are raising five or more children aged 18 or younger, the city said on the 12th. Eligible services span everyday household work, including cleaning, laundry and tidying.
Each household receives two sessions a month, with each session lasting three hours. The city has set the rate at 62,000 won per session.
The program operates on a reimbursement basis for the convenience of users. Eligible households choose a private housekeeping provider on their own, use the service and then apply for reimbursement at the community service center for their town, township or neighborhood, attaching receipts and other documents.
Ulsan launched the program in May this year. Detailed eligibility criteria and application procedures are available at the community service center covering each applicant's area of residence.
"This program is designed to reduce the housework burden on households with many children and to improve conditions for raising them," a city official said. "We will continue to expand tailored welfare policies step by step so that families having and raising children can feel the benefits in their daily lives."
