JOHOR BARU: Pasir Gudang recorded the country's highest Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 180, placing it in the unhealthy category as haze continued to affect Johor.
The latest readings showed that all seven other monitoring stations in the state, except Segamat, also recorded unhealthy air quality, with readings ranging from 152 to 170.
Pengerang recorded an API reading of 170, followed by Larkin (169), Kota Tinggi (168), Batu Pahat (154), Kluang (153) and Tangkak (152).
Segamat was the only monitoring station in Johor to record moderate air quality, with an API reading of 95.
Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was the dominant pollutant at all eight monitoring stations.
An API reading of between 101 and 200 is classified as unhealthy, while readings between 51 and 100 are considered moderate.
