The official Serie A YouTube channel uploaded the highlights from Saturday’s entertaining affair between Lazio and Parma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Christos Mandas the Hero in the First Half
The two sides traded jabs in a fast-paced first half, beginning with Parma striker David Romero, who drove towards the goal unchallenged, but Christos Mandas stopped the shot with his leg. Davide Frattesi then skipped past Mariano Triolo and stormed to the box, forcing the latter to bring him down, but the referee waved play on.

Emanuele Valeri then found El Bilal Toure with a clinical cross, but Mandas pulled off an excellent save to deny the visitors once more. At the other end of the pitch, Mattia Zaccagni set up Gustav Isaksen with a delicate cross. The Dane’s header sailed over Edoardo Corvi, but was kept out by the woodwork. The first half ended with another Mandas save on Romero.
Kenneth Taylor & Diego Carlos Score for Lazio
Swiftly after the break, Lazio found the breakthrough through Kenneth Taylor, who pounced on the second ball, found the right shooting angle, and beat Corvi at his near post with a clever low drive. Ten minutes later, Diego Carlos doubled the hosts’ lead by scoring an own goal after failing to deal with Nuno Tavares’ square ball to the mouth of the goal.
Simoni Lontani Nets Fortunate Goal for Parma
The Biancocelesti couldn’t add to their lead despite numerous chances, while Parma grabbed one back in bizarre fashion deep into extra time. Simoni Lontani intended to find a teammate’s head with a cross, but instead evaded the crowd, including Mandas, and sneaked past the line after hitting the post.
But despite conceding a late goal, Lazio went on to win 2-1 and seize the top spot in the table while waiting for Inter Milan’s game against Fiorentina on Sunday.
