This is Ghana’s first appearance
Ghana is set to make history on the international corporate sports scene as Corporate Sports Ghana prepares to lead the country’s maiden participation in the FIFCO Corporate Football World Championship in Antalya, Turkey, from October 21 to 25, 2026.
The tournament will bring together corporate football teams from more than 30 countries, providing Ghana with an opportunity to compete against some of the world’s leading corporate football sides while promoting the country’s sporting credentials on the global stage.
The historic participation has received backing from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, reflecting a shared commitment to using sports as a vehicle for tourism promotion, international cooperation and corporate engagement.
Ghana’s preparations for the global competition have been underpinned by a series of competitive domestic activities organised by Corporate Sports Ghana.
A major highlight was a three-week regional corporate football tournament held from August 7 to 22, 2026, at the Dichemso Astro Turf, also known as Otumfuo Park, in the Ashanti Region.
The competition featured 10 corporate teams, which battled through a series of exciting fixtures characterised by tactical discipline, teamwork and physical endurance.
The Ghana National Fire Service emerged champions after an impressive campaign, earning the regional title and providing a strong platform for the country’s preparations ahead of the international competition.
The tournament also offered participating players valuable match experience and an opportunity to sharpen their fitness and tactical coordination ahead of the anticipated challenge in Turkey.
Beyond the battle for the championship trophy, the FIFCO Corporate Football World Championship is expected to provide a valuable platform for corporate networking, business development and investment promotion.
The event brings together corporate employees, business executives and trade professionals from different countries, creating opportunities for participants to establish international partnerships, explore commercial prospects and strengthen professional relationships.
For Ghana, the competition presents an opportunity to showcase its business environment, promote its tourism potential and attract foreign investment while building meaningful relationships with international corporate stakeholders.
The combination of football and business engagement is expected to give the Ghanaian contingent a broader platform to represent the country beyond the playing field.
With the competition fast approaching, Corporate Sports Ghana is putting the finishing touches to preparations for the team’s departure to Antalya.
Corporate organisations, sports enthusiasts and other stakeholders have rallied behind the initiative, expressing support for Ghana’s maiden appearance at the prestigious championship.
The backing of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation further highlights the potential of corporate football to contribute to Ghana’s international visibility and strengthen the relationship between sports, tourism and business.
Ghana’s participation is also expected to project the country’s cultural heritage and hospitality to an international audience, reinforcing its ambition to become a recognised destination for sports-related activities and corporate events.
Corporate Sports Ghana will be seeking to make a strong impression against international opposition while using the tournament to demonstrate the growing potential of corporate football in the country.
