Bruno Guimaraes has been an Arsenal player since the start of this season, but he has already spoken highly of Declan Rice, who has established himself as one of the team’s best performers.
Interestingly, Guimaraes also operates in midfield, meaning Rice could be viewed as a competitor for regular playing time. However, that does not appear to be the case at Arsenal, where the players seem to share a strong bond and are willing to support one another in pursuit of the team’s success.
The Gunners regard Rice as one of their key leaders, while Guimaraes has also become an important player since joining the club a few months ago. The Brazilian has been enjoying regular game time and demonstrating why Arsenal considered him a valuable signing in the transfer market.
Guimaraes praises Rice’s support at Arsenal
Guimaraes has benefited from the support of experienced players since arriving at the club, with Rice among those helping him settle into his new environment. Their relationship is particularly interesting given that the two midfielders previously experienced some tense moments on the pitch when Guimaraes represented Newcastle United against Arsenal.
Despite that history, the Brazilian has spoken positively about his English teammate, highlighting both his ability and his willingness to help others.
According to Mirror Football, Guimaraes had the following words of praise for Rice:
“He’s so good, he’s an unbelievable player, unbelievable guy.
“He’s trying to help me a lot since my first day in the club. I think he can play like me as a six, as an eight, as a 10, everywhere in the midfield. I think the manager is still trying to get the best version of ourselves.”

Arsenal benefit from midfield partnership
Guimaraes’ comments underline the respect he has for Rice, both as a footballer and as a teammate. His recognition of Rice’s versatility also highlights the quality Arsenal possess in midfield, where players can contribute in different roles depending on the manager’s tactical requirements.
For Arsenal, having two talented midfielders who support each other could prove valuable throughout the campaign. Rather than allowing competition for places to create tension, the club will hope their relationship continues to strengthen as they work towards their collective objectives.
